MVW Nutritionals was formed with the mission of providing “better” multivitamin choices for individuals who have low fat-soluble vitamins – the vitamins A, D, E and K.
Overall development goals included:
1. Formulating better tasting and patient-accepted chewable, offering a more palatable initial taste, reduce chalkiness due to fillers, and eliminate a lingering after-taste. The Orange Chewable was our first product.
2. Reduce the size of the chewable – we call it “size wise”- a chewable that is about “half the size” of other multivitamins that provide similar vitamin content.
3. Offer multiple chewable flavor options to avoid taste fatigue, with the goal of supporting better adherence and persistence.
4. Provide multiple vitamin D content options, in both our Chewables and Softgels, to better support what are recognized 25(OH)D levels in healthy individuals, when not achieved by diet alone. And importantly, avoid the need for additional “pills” and “added cost”.
5. Address “the belching” reported with some softgel multivitamin products with higher A, D, E and K content, through novel and patented formulation chemistry.
6. Offer a lower volume liquid multivitamin serving size with the goal of lessening the incidence of infants and children “spitting out” the liquid multivitamin, as volume, texture and taste appear to affect retention.
7. Develop a gummy formulation. While a challenging pursuit due to content, we searched manufacturers and technologies across the globe to bring a gummy form of a multivitamin with higher A, D, E, and K and a serving size of just two gummies. No easy pursuit.
8. Expand our nutritional supplement focus beyond multivitamins, to include a probiotic to better balance “gut microbiota”.
9. And most recently, a novel multivitamin formulation that “better modulates” vitamin A based on an individual’s need, when diet alone does not provide the levels of the fat-soluble vitamins typically associated with healthy individuals.
While we focused on developing “an array of Products” to support every stage of life, we also committed the Company to “the service of others”, an orientation that means we are there for healthcare providers to Support their treatment goals and care decisions directed at better health for patients, and families.

Products
Product development is both patient and market centric. What does this mean? We seek to hear and understand the wants of physicians supporting individuals whose diets alone do not provide sufficient vitamin A, D, E, and K; while actively anticipating how we might better serve these needs through new manufacturing technology, formulation chemistry and other advances.
· MVW Modulator Formulation® Softgel MINIs, Chewabes and Liquid Drops
Why did MVW develop the Modulator Formulation? Fat-soluble vitamins, when taken or administered above certain levels, can result in levels too high and be associated with adverse events and known toxicities.
Many multivitamin supplements contain 100% of vitamin A, as preformed vitamin A. This active form of vitamin A has been described “as to be insatiably absorbed”. Examples of preformed vitamin A include retinyl palmitate and retinyl acetate. Preformed vitamin A is readily available to be absorbed and may provide “too much”.
MVW Modulator Formulation products effectively “modulate” vitamin A due to their high content of vitamin A, as beta carotene. Beta carotene is recognized as a precursor to the active form of vitamin A; with beta carotene is only being converted to the active form of vitamin A, as needed by the body.
Beta carotene, also called pro-vitamin A, is regulated by a “negative feedback system” in the body. When diet alone does not provide an individual with sufficient vitamin A, this negative feedback system “signals the body” to convert the needed amount of beta carotene to the active form vitamin A, and only the amount needed by an individual’s body is converted to the active for of vitamin A. The body modulates this conversion of pro-vitamin A (beta carotene) to the active form, as needed based on a deficiency in dietary intake.
MVW Modulator Formulation contains 96.5% of its vitamin A content as beta carotene or pro-vitamin A; with only 3.5% and 50% of the age-specific recommended daily allowance (RDA) as preformed vitamin A. This differs from most multivitamin formulations and provides a formulation that lets the body modulate conversion of beta carotene (pro-vitaimin A) to the body’s need, beyond that of dietary intake.
Genetics, however, can influence an individual’s conversion efficiency of beta carotene to the active form of vitamin A, decreasing conversion efficiency by as much as 69%. This conversion inefficiency exists in no less than 25% of people to almost half of all healthy individuals based on published literature. To accommodate this, total vitamin A is higher than many other products, but as beta carotene.
That’s the Modulator Formulation: A multivitamin developed to modulate supplemental vitamin A; modulating vitamin A based on the body’s needs.

The human body is home to trillions of microorganisms (i.e. bacteria) that live within us to help support bodily functions and health. Not all the microorganisms that live within the body are helpful, and some can even be unhealthy. There are a number of factors (e.g. stress, diet, medications, overall health) that can contribute to an unhealthy balance of microorganisms in the gut.
Often referred to as “friendly” or “good” bacteria, probiotics may to help maintain a normal healthy balance of bacteria in the gut when consumed in adequate amounts and contain the strains that reflect a normal gut microbiome.
Some probiotic products are labeled with the number of live organisms they contain. These are called colony forming units (CFUs). All probiotics are labeled with the specific microorganisms included. Literature suggests that probiotics with a greater number of unique microorganisms may offer broader benefits.
The MVW Complete Formulation PROBIOTIC proprietary blend contains 11 different strains of microorganisms, as each type and strain may confer a particular and unique benefit: with 40 billion colony of CFUs per serving. The MVW Compete Formulation PROBIOTIC also contains the novel prebiotic, PreforPro®, a prebiotic that works in both in the small and large intestine and works in hours versus days – like conventional prebiotics (i.e., fiber or starch based). The MVW Complete Formulation PROBIOTIC also contains DE111® which forms spores to protect strains from harsh conditions – temperature and the stomach’s acidic environment – until reaching an environment ripe for germination. This protective effect is further aided by using a delayed-release capsule.
All probiotics are not the same and may differ in the number and type of strains provided, whether they include both probiotics and a prebiotic, stability, and the data to support the potential benefits of the formulation.
